James has spent his life working for causes he cares about, but he also knows you can only take the issue so far at the charitable level. James believes Vancouver-Point Grey deserves a voice at the table in government so we can make real and lasting change together.
A vote for James on May 9, is also a vote for:
Supporting home ownership
As a renter himself hoping to get into the market, James understands the challenges of affordability first-hand and why it’s so important to create a path for first-time home buyers. The B.C. HOME Partnership program helps first-time buyers by partnering on their down payment up to $37,500.
Improving care for seniors
Our seniors built this province for us, and now we need to be there for them. We’re investing $500 million over the next 4 years to strengthen seniors care and services as well as $225 million to reduce wait times for elective surgeries like knee and hip.
Keeping our education system #1 in the country
Our province has the top student outcomes in Canada, and we’re working to keep BC students first. We’re investing an additional $740 million to support K-12 education over the next 3 years as well as modernizing curriculum with new additions like coding.
Increasing transit options
We need the kind of forward-thinking transportation that reflects the innovative, and forward-thinking province we are. That’s why we are investing $2.2 billion over the next 11 years in BC transit services and infrastructure, matching the federal government dollar-for-dollar.
Growing our tech sector
Vancouver is the startup capital of Canada, fueling a booming BC Tech sector with over 103,000 jobs. Our government is investing an additional $100 million into BC Tech by 2020 to ensure the industry has access to the markets, money, ideas, and talent they need to grow and thrive.
Bringing ride-sharing to BC
The BC Liberal government has committed to bringing ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft to BC by the end of 2017, giving residents across the province more access to transportation choices at their fingertips.
